Why Cross UK labradoodles with Australian Labradoodles?

There are many reasons why it is important that breeders introduce new bloodlines into the Australian Labradoodle. Sometimes we need to breed back to poodles to correct coat type, or to achieve rare colours. We may breed to UK (labradoodles Origin) to correct coat, size, and temperament and most importantly for genetic diversity. The Australian Labradoodle gene pool is still very limited, particularly in the UK. It is critical we learn from past mistakes that are now being recognised in our Pure breed dogs. Pure breeds are now suffering due to years of inbreeding, creating many life threatening disorders. The health of your labraoodle, improved via genetic diversity, is much more important than its generation number. A Non-Shedding healthy new line ALF3 Labradoodle is just as good as an ALF6p Labradoodle. Be more concerned that the breeder you choose is breeding for the health and genetic diversity of labradoodles, not just to produce as many puppies as possible from the same old lines. Breeding new bloodlines is very rewarding when all goes according to plan, but things do not always go as we would like, not every dog is cut out to be a suitable mother or stud, some don’t pass their health tests and others may just not meet the high Standards that our Sires and Dams must reach, so in reality it probably takes at least 18 dogs to produce that one new bloodline. A Uk Labradoodle x Australian Labradoodle or an Australian Labradoodle x Poodle is still very much an Australian Labradoodle.
For example, if we breed our
Labradoodle Origin LO2 (F2 UK labradoodle) To Angus , Australian Labradoodle (ALF 6)
Pups from this breeding would be considered ALF 3
If we were to breed
Miniature poodle To Angus (ALF 6)
Pups from this breeding would be ALF6pp Please be aware of all the work that goes into producing new lines of Australian Labradoodles.
